Illuminate the Future was commissioned by Seirei Christopher Jr./Sr. High School and Oedo Symphonic Wind Orchestra in 2019 and can be performed by as few as 20 players.

Unlike sunset, the sunrise illuminates every surface of our world due to air quality and wavelength of light. The beauty of sunrise beyond words is captured in this song using dynamics, tempi, and constant tonal changes. The brightly colored sunrise has a prediction for rain. But it certainly offers hope for a brighter day, and future.

The delicate woodwind melody is a main theme throughout the piece. Followed by Allegro, the emotional tone continues. After deep, complex harmonies requiring fluid expressiveness, Allegro returns and the main theme reappears to bring the climax.
