Commissioned by Fuji Kawaguchiko High School to celebrate the 25th anniversary annual concert in 2020. It premiered at Kawaguchiko Stellar Theater.

When I started writing the piece, COVID-19 began spreading in Japan and was in all the headlines. After the first state of emergency was declared, music making disappeared and there were many losses. I was frustrated and angry. I decided to express this angst with my music with strong determination.
"Amana" is an ancient Japanese word for energy and the origin of creativity. I believe there will be a better future as long as we create and keep trying for new challenges.
The song starts with a rather dramatic opening. After an emotional first section, the mid-part expresses the beauty and preciousness of life. Then comes a grand climax for a hopeful future. I hope your life is also fulfilled by this joy of music.
