This selection features five pieces from the film "Princess Mononoke," including the opening theme "The Legend of Ashitaka," the intriguingly festive "The Demon God," the enchanting "The Kodamas" which serves as the theme for the Kodama forest, the serene "Ashitaka and San" that plays after the head is returned to the Forest Spirit, and the main title "Princess Mononoke," beautifully sung by Yoshikazu Mera.
The arrangement mirrors the narrative sequence of the film, enabling a performance that can recreate the cinematic experience. The piece is adaptable for performance by a minimum of five players, but a rendition by a wind orchestra is highly recommended to fully capture the symphonic essence of the work, especially with the inclusion of percussion to heighten the excitement.
