This piece vividly depicts the elegant and lively world of "Hanami Odori," a traditional spring dance performed while admiring cherry blossoms, through a simple yet syncopated "melody" and "song."

The composition is divided into three sections with varying tempos, featuring a light-hearted theme presented in section [A] and a "song" theme introduced in section [E], which together form the structure of the entire piece.

Since the creation of the brass octet version in 2006, this piece has been performed by many musicians. Due to longstanding requests to perform this in different voicings, I have now arranged it for flexible ensemble. Optional cues have been added to allow for performance by a minimum of six players. Additionally, percussion can be added, and some parts can be doubled to accommodate small ensemble use.

For woodwind instruments, passages not present in the original brass octet version have been added, and some chord tones have been modified to suit the timbre of the instruments.

You are free to make octave adjustments or temporarily exchange parts to maintain balance. These modifications do not constitute arranging the piece.
