Dynamic opener weaving classical themes with a driving rhythm section.
This is designed as an opening number and incorporates themes from a variety of classical works.
It can be highly effective to start the performance with only the rhythm section on stage ("preset"), playing the opening groove, while each section enters one after another from both sides of the stage.
Although elec. guitar, combo organ, synthesizer, female chorus, and other instruments are in the score, the piece may be performed without them. In that case, play from the beginning through page 3 of the score, then skip to the 7th measure of A.
It is also recommended that the optional parts indicated in parentheses for each section be played offstage.
If the chorus section is not used, skip from the end of the 5th measure of J directly to K.
