Commissioned in 2022 by the oboe ensemble Fil*coule, this work was originally composed as an oboe quintet (3 oboes, English horn, and bass oboe). In 2025, it was arranged for clarinet quintet, resulting in this edition. For ensemble competition you may perform combinations of the first, third, and fourth movements or the second, third, and fourth movements.
The title Bagatelle means "a charming little piece," and the work consists of four bright and capricious movements. The third movement should be performed with a rich, singing quality, while the other movements should convey a light and graceful character.
