Composed in 2026 on commission from Brain Music.
The piece is based on the legendary King Arthur, ruler of ancient Britain, and depicts several famous episodes from Arthurian legend: Arthur drawing the sword from the stone and being chosen as King of Britain; his journey with the Knights of the Round Table in search of the Holy Grail; and his battles against the invading Saxons as he builds the ideal kingdom of Camelot.

Each instrument is given its own opportunity to shine, with careful consideration paid to range and technical demand. As a result, performers of all experience levels -from beginners to advanced musicians- can enjoy music that evokes the atmosphere of ancient Europe.

Written for flexible instrumentation, the work can be performed by 6 to 8 wind players with 0 to 3 optional percussionists. In addition to ensemble competition, it is suitable for performance by small concert bands, as well as brass bands with instruments such as cornet and alto horn.
